Thermalin is looking for a Laboratory Associate – Protein Expression to join our team. In this role, you will support expression, screening, and quantitation of novel insulin analogs for therapeutic applications utilizing microbial systems.
Laboratory Associate Responsibilities:
Cloning synthetic genes into appropriate expression vectors
Transforming host organisms
Screening in small scale expression experiments to identify optimally expressing clones
Co-expressing chaperones and augmenting gene copy number to enhance expression
Participate in cross-functional purification of expressed proteins
Optimize procedures and protocols to improve throughput
Write transferable, GLP-quality protocols
Record results accurately and meticulously
Successful Laboratory Associate Candidates Will Have:
A BS or MS in Molecular Biology or related science in addition to appropriate laboratory experience.
A minimum of 1 year experience in an industry setting is required.
Direct laboratory experience with microbial expression systems.
At least 3 distinct, observable examples where achieved meaningful excellence.
Excellent “hands” in executing laboratory methods, particularly handling proteins.
